Do your sport activities to lose weight

Some people believe that national sports teams and individual men and women who represent their country should be financially supported by the government. Others think they should be funded by non-government organizations (business, scholarship). Discuss both views and give your opinion.

As international sport contests such as Olympics Game become more and more popular, a debate arises with it---whether those athletes should be funded by government or by private companies. Those who support government funding claim that sportsmen and women in big games are representing a nation, therefore naturally need to be public subsided. I, however, beg to differ.

One thing about sports is that its social benefits are not quite clear. Though they are popular, they are not necessary of common interests. It is not reasonable to use common wealth of all citizens to support those liked by port a part of a nation. Especially, the receivers are the richer, which against the fairness of the tax usage. It is hard to convince a tax payer who do not enjoy sports event to advocate the applying of taxing money on a minor group of athletes.

Another issue is doubted is the effectiveness of public funding. As is known by all that, government can’t unlimitedly invest in sports. There is a budget in every decision. Those who are most talented but underpaid will consequently seek for another position in a well-funded place. And those changes nationalities during the process can not represent the country any more. As a result, sports become a bid between countries, which not very promising for a country which do not have enormous amount of capital.

Last but not least, sports should not see boundaries. There are a lot of people in soccer clubs who are of different nationalities. Their glorious achievement always help sports to progress to the ultimate goal “Higher, faster, stronger”. Their gifts are not supposed to be bound by their origins. If they are only sponsored by nations, athletes from extremely poor country will not have the chance to success, and sports industry can’t be so flourishing today.

Based on the reasons above, I do believe that for the good of sports and nations, those teams and individuals should be sponsored by private organizations. Information & Counseling for Your Life
